Iran condemns lethal “terrorist attack” in Türkiye’s capital

TEHRAN, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has strongly condemned a deadly “terrorist attack” in the Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday.
He made the remarks in a statement released by the ministry Wednesday night while reacting to a shooting attack at the production facility of the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAS) in Ankara, in which five people were killed and 22 others wounded.
Baghaei condemned all forms and manifestations of terrorism, expressing Iran’s readiness to cooperate with other countries, especially its neighbors, to prevent and counter the “anti-human phenomenon” of terrorism.
He extended condolences to the victims’ families as well as the Turkish government and people, wishing for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
Turkish authorities said on Thursday they have identified the two assailants of the attack — a man and a woman — as members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). ■
